In fiscal year 2006-07, UCR had an economic impact in the state of California of over $1 billion.

Nearly 72% of that impact benefited the Inland Empire.

The state of California provided $165.3 million to UCR in 2006-07. This represents more than a SIX-FOLD return on the state's investment in UCR!

Combined spending by UCR created over 13,000 full time jobs throughout California.

This spending also generated $558.7 million in personal income.

The UC Riverside 2004-05 Economic Impact and Benefits Report was completed in June 2006 by CB Richard Ellis Consulting at the request of campus leadership, and with the assistance of numerous UCR departments, offices and individuals. The direct, indirect and induced impacts of University spending, combined with student, visitor and retiree spending was assessed for the following geographies: City of Riverside, County of Riverside, the Inland Empire and the state of California. Updates to the economic impact information are done annually to reflect the most current fiscal year data.
